After seven lead changes in Monday's game at Uni-Trade Stadium, the Laredo Lemurs (31-33) finally pulled out a 8-6 win over the Wichita Wingnuts (37-29).

The Laredo Lemurs staved off the Wichita Wingnuts as the Wichita Wingnuts were unable to match the Laredo Lemurs down the stretch.

The Wichita Wingnuts scored one run in the eighth on a sacrifice fly by John Rodriguez. Still, the Wichita Wingnuts couldn't draw even.

Javier Brito had two extra-base hits for the Laredo Lemurs. He doubled in the first and seventh innings and singled in the eighth inning.

Edwin Walker improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Laredo Lemurs. Walker struck out two, walked one and gave up one hit.

James Baker couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Wichita Wingnuts, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.

Stephen Douglas, Uriak Marquez, John Allen and Brito helped lead the Laredo Lemurs. They combined for eight hits and four RBIs.
