Kris Sanchez drove in three runs, sparking the Sioux City Explorers (26-30) to a 3-2 victory over the Sioux Falls Pheasants (27-27) on Sunday at Lewis _ Clark Park.

Nick Schumacher's nine strikeouts helped the Sioux City Explorers to the victory. Schumacher allowed two earned runs on five hits and one walk over seven innings.

It was a good day at the plate for the Sioux Falls Pheasants' Cesar Nicolas. Nicolas went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the first and eighth innings.

Dusty Gober brought the heat against the Sioux City Explorers during his outing. Gober held the Sioux City Explorers hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Peter Gehle was charged with his fifth loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
