Josh Lowey kept the Laredo Lemurs (25-31) off the board during his seven innings of work and the Wichita Wingnuts (34-23) beat the Laredo Lemurs, 2-1.

Lowey allowed three hits, three walks and struck out five.

Ryan Khoury helped the Wichita Wingnuts pull ahead for the duration in the eighth inning. With the game scoreless in the eighth inning Khoury came to the plate and homered.

Khoury reached base two times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the eighth inning.

The Wichita Wingnuts would not relinquish the lead as the Laredo Lemurs were unable to weather a two-run eighth inning deficit.

The Laredo Lemurs scored one run in the eighth on a sacrifice fly by Javier Brito. Still, the Laredo Lemurs couldn't catch the Wichita Wingnuts.

The Wichita Wingnuts were led by a flawless day at the dish by Jairo Perez, who went 2-2 against the Laredo Lemurs' pitching. He singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the sixth inning.

Kyle Wilson ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 7 2/3 innings, walked four, struck out five, and allowed two runs.
