The Gary SouthShore RailCats (20-30) outlasted the Lincoln Saltdogs (20-30) on Monday after six lead changes, squeaking out a 5-4 win at U.S. Steel Yard.
Mike Massaro was solid at the plate for the Gary SouthShore RailCats. Massaro went 3-4 and scored one run. He tripled in the first inning and singled in the third and seventh innings.
The Lincoln Saltdogs had no answer for Chris Allen, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Allen held the Lincoln Saltdogs hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
Tycen Po Vey was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed one run.
