The Grand Prairie AirHogs get late runs to finish off the Laredo Lemurs, 8-2

The Grand Prairie AirHogs (35-13) scored four runs in the eighth to cap an 8-2 win over the Laredo Lemurs (20-26) on Saturday.

The Laredo Lemurs couldn't slow down Keanon Simon, who paced the Grand Prairie AirHogs with five hits. He singled in the third, fourth, sixth, eighth, and ninth innings.

Derrick Miramontes shut down the Laredo Lemurs while he was on the mound. The Laredo Lemurs managed just one hit off of Miramontes, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.

It was a good day at the plate for the Laredo Lemurs' Anthony Scelfo. Scelfo went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the fifth innings.

Will Irvin recorded his first win of the year for the Grand Prairie AirHogs. He allowed two runs over five innings. Irvin struck out five, walked none and gave up four hits.

Ryan Sasaki was charged with the loss. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
