Early lead not enough for the Wichita Wingnuts, drop 3-1 decision to the Grand Prairie AirHogs

Story by Narrative Science.

The Wichita Wingnuts (31-14) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 3-1 to the Grand Prairie AirHogs (33-13) on Thursday.

The Grand Prairie AirHogs took the lead in the fourth inning on a two-run home run by Chris McMurray.

McMurray had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He singled in the second inning, homered in the fourth inning, and tripled in the seventh inning.

Nick DeBarr's seven strikeouts were enough to push the Grand Prairie AirHogs past the Wichita Wingnuts. DeBarr allowed one earned run on six hits and no walks over eight innings.

Jeff Nadeau (0-1) took the loss for the Wichita Wingnuts. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed three runs.

The Grand Prairie AirHogs were sparked by David Thomas and McMurray, who teamed up for five hits and three RBIs.
