The Wichita outlast the Sioux City in high-scoring affair, 19-10

Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Thursday as the Wichita (25-8) outscored the Sioux City (17-18) 19-10.

The two teams combined for 35 hits in the game.

Nine runs in the first three innings helped the Wichita blow out the Sioux City. An RBI double by John Rodriguez and a sacrifice fly by Juan M. Richardson during the first inning and a groundout by Ryan Khoury, a single by Jake Kahaulelio, a single by Rodriguez, an RBI double by M. Richardson, an RBI single by CJ Ziegler, and a single by David Peralta in the second inning helped the Wichita put some runs on the board early.

Rodriguez racked up four RBIs on five hits for the Wichita.

Even though Josh Lowey allowed five runs over five innings he still recorded the victory, his sixth of the season. He struck out seven, walked three and surrendered seven hits.

Ty Marotz (2-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed nine runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out one.

The Wichita pounded the Sioux City pitching, as eight hitters combined for 24 hits, 18 RBIs and 19 runs scored.
