The Gary SouthShore (14-18) didn't stand a chance on Wednesday, as the Laredo (14-18) captured a blowout 8-1 win at Uni-Trade Stadium.

The Laredo scored four runs in the fifth on an RBI single by Javier Brito, an RBI single by Stephen Pearson, an RBI single by Pearson, and a sacrifice fly by Kevin Butler.

Brito racked up three RBIs on four hits for the Laredo.

The Gary SouthShore had no answer for Manny Ayala, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Gary SouthShore managed just three hits off of the the Laredo's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his five innings of work.

Will Krout (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
