An ace performance by Nick DeBarr lifted the Grand Prairie (10-8) to a 5-1 win over the Laredo (8-10) on Tuesday at QuikTrip Park.
The Laredo's lineup had no answer for DeBarr. The Laredo managed just two hits off of DeBarr, who allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out four during his nine innings of work.
The Laredo jumped out to an early lead, but they were unable to hang on. The Laredo led until the fourth inning, but the Grand Prairie took the lead back on an RBI triple by David Thomas.
Andres Rodriguez reached base four times in the game for the Grand Prairie. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the first inning and homered in the fifth inning.
Leonard Giammanco was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
