A walk-off single from John Alonso brought home the winning run for the Lincoln (5-5) in a 14-13 victory over the :New Jersey at Haymarket Park on Saturday.

Alonso racked up five RBIs on two hits for the Lincoln . He homered in the first inning and singled in the ninth inning.

Leivi Ventura blasted two home runs for the Lincoln . Ventura went 2-4 in the game with three RBIs and four runs scored. Ventura homered in the second and sixth innings.

The two teams combined for 27 runs and 33 hits, including zero extra base hits. There were nine pitchers used in the game as the two managers searched for any way to finish it off.

Pete Parise got the win, running his season record to 3-0. He allowed two runs over two innings. Parise struck out four, walked none and gave up two hits.

Mike Zenko was charged with the loss. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.

The bottom of the first saw the Lincoln take an early lead, 4-0. After Stephen Holdren doubled, the Lincoln kept the pressure on the :New Jersey pitching, as Alonso homered, bringing home Holdren and Ventura. The scoreboard lit up again for the Lincoln when scored on a double by Asif Shah and Shah scored on an RBI double by C.J. Beatty.

The Lincoln quickly matched the :New Jersey 's strong inning with a one-run inning of their own in the third. The Lincoln scored on a solo home run by Holdren.

After posting two runs in the fifth, the :New Jersey again scored two in the eighth. In the fifth, the :New Jersey scored on an RBI single by Steve Caseres, plating Carlos Guzman.

The Lincoln got one-run rallies in the sixth inning and the seventh. In the sixth, the Lincoln scored on a solo home run by Ventura.

After a quick strike from the :New Jersey , the Lincoln responded with one run in the seventh. The Lincoln scored on a steal of home by Joe Spiers and a groundout by Holdren.
