The Amarillo (4-4) continued to pile up the runs on Friday, scoring five runs in the last three innings, on the way to a 21-5 landslide win over the Laredo (4-5) at Amarillo Natl Bank Sox Stadium.
The Amarillo scored six runs in the sixth on , a two-run single by Harrison Kain, and a three-run home run by Matthew Tucker.
Tucker racked up seven RBIs on four hits for the Amarillo .
John Allen racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Laredo. He singled in the fourth inning and homered in the seventh inning.
Jack Spradlin got his second win for the Amarillo despite allowing five runs over six innings. He struck out six, walked none and surrendered seven hits.
Stephen Kahn was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out three.
The Amarillo easily handled the Laredo pitching as seven hitters combined for 19 hits, 20 RBIs and 20 runs scored.
The Amarillo piled on two more runs in the bottom of the second. A triple by Mitch Abeita ignited the offense,, bringing home Adam Buschini. That was followed up by an error that scored Abeita.
The Amarillo answered the Laredo's top inning with three runs of their own in the fourth. The Amarillo scored on a solo home run by Alberto Espinosa and a two-run single by Kain.
The Amarillo added four more runs in the bottom of the fifth. The inning got off to a hot start when Kain singled, scoring Garrett Rau. That was followed up by Tucker's triple, plating Abeita and Kain.
