Jonny Kaplan hit two home runs, but it wasn't enough to carry the Sioux Falls (5-7) to a win on Thursday, as the Sioux Falls fell to the St Paul (7-5) 6-4 at Sioux Falls Stadium.
Ole Sheldon hit two home runs for the St Paul. Sheldon went 2-4 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Sheldon homered in the third and seventh innings.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the seventh, with five lead changes.
Bret Severtson brought the heat against the Sioux Falls during his outing. The Sioux Falls managed just one hit off of the the St Paul's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out one during his three innings of work.
Rod Scurry (1-1) took the loss for the Sioux Falls. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed two runs.
