The DeLand Suns (22-16)'s four first-inning runs built an early lead that helped bring home a 5-1 win over the Winter Park Diamond Dawgs (22-15) on Saturday at Conrad Park at Stetson Universi.

Erik Lunde did his best to jumpstart the offense for the DeLand Suns, reaching base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the first innings and doubled in the seventh innings.

The Winter Park Diamond Dawgs couldn't get anything going so long as Tim Stoops was on the hill. The Winter Park Diamond Dawgs managed just one hit off of Stoops, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his four innings of work.

Brett Mueller got the win, running his season record to 3-2. Mueller struck out three, walked none and gave up two hits.

Evan Incinelli ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
