The DeLand Suns (22-16) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 3-1 to the Orlando Monarchs (19-18) on Tuesday.

A two-run triple by David Lee gave the Orlando Monarchs the lead in the seventh inning.

Lee racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Orlando Monarchs. He singled in the fifth inning and tripled in the seventh inning.

The DeLand Suns couldn't get anything going as long as Abdel Rivera was on the mound. Rivera gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his three innings of work.

Despite the loss, the DeLand Suns' Mike Compton dominated the Orlando Monarchs' batters, giving up one run and striking out six.

Brett Mueller ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
