The DeLand Suns (22-16) and the Orlando Freedom (9-28) each put runners in scoring position on Friday, but the DeLand Suns capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 3-1 win at Orel Hershiser Field.

The DeLand Suns held off the Orlando Freedom, as the Orlando Freedom were unable to overcome a three-run third inning deficit.

The Orlando Freedom scored one run in the sixth on an RBI single by Jeffrey Campbell. Still, the Orlando Freedom couldn't catch the DeLand Suns.

Bryan Adametz was hot from the plate for the DeLand Suns. Adametz went 2-2, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the third inning.

Jake Meiers struck out six hitters en route to the the DeLand Suns win. Meiers allowed one earned run on six hits and one walk over six innings.

Tim Koons (1-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out five, and allowed three runs.
