Saturday was a great day for Joey Havrilak, as he hit two home runs to carry the Auburn Wildcats (26-15) to an 8-1 victory over the Fresno Cardinals (23-18) at John Euless Ballpark in seven innings.
The Auburn Wildcats blew out the Fresno Cardinals thanks to 11 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Auburn Wildcats scored three runs in the seventh on a solo home run by Jorden Newton, a sacrifice fly by Gibby Briones, and a solo home run by Ethan McGill.
Julian Estrada picked up the win for the Auburn Wildcats. Estrada allowed one earned run, six hits and no walks while striking out three over seven innings of work.
Clay Gartner ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
