Zack Speer held the Fresno Cardinals (23-16) scoreless for six innings to boost the Atwater Aviators (29-17) to a 4-2 victory.

Speer struck out seven and allowed five walks and four hits.

Rick Brebner helped the Atwater Aviators pull ahead for the duration in the sixth inning. After Jake Morton singled, Brebner came to the plate with one out in the sixth and, plating Morton.

The Atwater Aviators would not relinquish the lead as the Fresno Cardinals were unable to weather a four-run sixth inning deficit.

The Fresno Cardinals scored two runs in the ninth on a two-run home run by Travis Beck. Despite their efforts, the Fresno Cardinals couldn't get over the hump.

Kevin Grove racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Atwater Aviators. He singled in the sixth and eighth innings.

Troy Marks ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed no runs.
