The Fresno Cardinals (23-17) and the Alameda Merchants (20-17) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Fresno Cardinals that eventually took advantage of them in a 5-4 win at College of Alameda.

The Alameda Merchants scored on a groundout by Daniel Skinner, a two-run single by Chaz Meadows, a hit by pitch, and a triple by Ryan Lacy in the third inning and an RBI double by Tyler Rose in the sixth inning. Despite their efforts, the Alameda Merchants couldn't finish the comeback.

David Snapp improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Fresno Cardinals. He allowed one run over 2 2/3 innings. Snapp struck out none, walked two and gave up two hits.

Taylor Gamboa (1-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
