The Sanford River Rats (16-18) outlasted the Orlando Monarchs (15-16) on Thursday after four lead changes, squeaking out a 8-5 win at Historic Sanford Memorial Stadi.

Sam Halpern led the Sanford River Rats' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He homered in the second inning.

David Lee racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Orlando Monarchs. He homered in the third inning and singled in the seventh inning.

John Sever improved to 3-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Sanford River Rats. He allowed two runs over three innings. He struck out six, walked four and surrendered two hits.
