The Fresno Cardinals jump on the Sacramento Legends early and coast to 20-6 win

The Fresno Cardinals (11-1) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Sacramento Legends, recording a 20-6 victory on Thursday at John Euless Ballpark.

With eight runs in the first three innings, the Fresno Cardinals left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An RBI single by Brett Jones, an RBI single by Galen Duff, an RBI single by Corey Rohm, and an RBI single by Trevor Ellison during the first inning and an RBI single by Jones in the second inning helped the Fresno Cardinals put some runs on the board early.

Jones racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Fresno Cardinals.

Ryan Ahrens put together a nice outing. The Sacramento Legends managed just one hit off of Ahrens, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his two innings of work.

Andrew Lojewsui had a busy day at the plate, collecting three extra-base hits. He tripled in the third inning and doubled in the seventh and ninth innings.

Michael Isom got the win, running his season record to 2-0. He allowed four runs over five innings. He struck out five, walked two and surrendered seven hits.

The Fresno Cardinals pounded the Sacramento Legends pitching, as eight hitters combined for 17 hits, 14 RBIs and 13 runs scored.

Brian Kennedy couldn't get it done on the mound for the Sacramento Legends, taking a loss. He allowed 14 runs in four innings, walked six and struck out two.
