Early lead gives the Orlando Freedom easy victory over the Orlando Monarchs, 12-6

The Orlando Freedom (6-25) shut the door early on the Orlando Monarchs (15-16), capturing a 12-6 victory on Saturday at Tinker Field.

Seven runs in the first three innings allowed the Orlando Freedom to put the game away early.

An RBI triple by Lee Dunnam and an RBI single by Blake Swann during the first inning and a two-run double by Mark Nelson, an RBI single by TJ Hoelzer, an RBI single by Christopher Suto, and an RBI single by Swann in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Orlando Freedom.

Nelson racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Orlando Freedom.

The Orlando Monarchs couldn't get anything going as long as Nick Neitzel was on the mound. Neitzel gave up just three hits, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five during his three innings of work.

Despite the loss, the Orlando Monarchs' Blake Prince dominated the Orlando Freedom's batters, giving up two runs and striking out five.

Ryan Otero recorded his second win of the year for the Orlando Freedom. He allowed four runs over five innings. Otero struck out six, walked one and gave up seven hits.

Vince Kossak (2-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked none and struck out one.
