The DeLand Suns (20-12) blew out the Orlando Monarchs (14-16) 7-1 on Wednesday at Conrad Park at Stetson Universi after pouring on five runs in the eighth inning.

The DeLand Suns relied on Jake Meiers to eat up innings en route to the win. Meiers allowed one earned run, six hits and no walks while striking out four over six innings of work.

Tyrone Miller was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed two runs.
