Saturday was a great day for Zach Persky, as he hit two home runs to carry the Winter Park Diamond Dawgs (22-15) to a 9-4 victory over the Orlando Freedom (9-28) at Alfond Stadium.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the seventh, with five lead changes.
Jake Hubbard kept contact to a minimum, striking out six the Orlando Freedom batters. The Winter Park Diamond Dawgs' pitcher gave up just three hits over 3 1/3 shutout innings.
Chris Walkerow couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Orlando Freedom, taking a loss. He lasted just two innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
The Winter Park Diamond Dawgs' Ted Blackman, Tyler Rocklein and Persky combined for seven hits and five RBIs.
