The Leesburg Lightning (21-12) jumped out to an early lead on the Sanford River Rats (15-18) and captured a 13-3 victory on Saturday at Historic Sanford Memorial Stadi.

With six runs in the first three innings, the Leesburg Lightning left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A single by Michael Miller, an error, a hit by pitch, an RBI double by Kyle Teaf, a groundout by Jake Hanson, a single by Matthew Singletary, an RBI single by Brett Moreland, and a single by Moreland during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Leesburg Lightning.

Teaf went a perfect 3-3 at the dish for the Leesburg Lightning.

Michael Clutterbuck looked sharp on the mound. Clutterbuck gave up just two hits, allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out five during his six innings of work.

The Sanford River Rats were led by Nicolas Delerme's hitting. Delerme went 2-3, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the second inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Spencer Hermann ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
