The Orlando Monarchs make the most of 5 hits in 3-2 victory over the DeLand Suns

The Orlando Monarchs (7-4) and the DeLand Suns (7-5) each put runners in scoring position on Wednesday, but the Orlando Monarchs capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 3-2 win at Tinker Field.

The Orlando Monarchs would not relinquish the lead as the DeLand Suns were unable to weather a two-run fourth inning deficit.

The DeLand Suns scored one run in the fifth on an RBI single by Bryan Adametz. Still, the DeLand Suns couldn't draw even.

Blake Prince racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Orlando Monarchs. He singled in the first inning and tripled in the third inning.

Drew Gay improved to 3-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Orlando Monarchs. He allowed two runs over six innings. Gay struck out four, walked three and gave up five hits.

Montana Durapau ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
