The Orlando Monarchs (5-4) beat the Sanford River Rats 11-2 on Thursday at Tinker Field after a six-run explosion in the fourth inning.

Tino Mention got on base three times in the game for the Orlando Monarchs. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the fifth and sixth innings.

Vince Kossak put together a nice outing. Kossak held the Sanford River Rats (3-7) hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out five.

Tyler Lesch did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Sanford River Rats, reaching base three times. He singled in the sixth inning.

Drew Gay recorded his second win of the year for the Orlando Monarchs. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out six, walked three and surrendered four hits.

Joseph Adel (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out five.
