Drew Gay held the DeLand Suns (12-9) scoreless for six innings to boost the Orlando Monarchs (11-10) to a 5-1 victory.
Gay allowed two hits, two walks and struck out four.
Austin Lueck got a hit in each of his three at bats. He singled in the fourth, sixth, and ninth innings.
A bright spot for the DeLand Suns in the defeat was Montana Durapau, who allowed only three runs while striking out eight.
