Wesley Sargent went 3-3 at the plate, sparking the Leesburg Lightning (5-3) to a 7-2 victory over the DeLand Suns (4-3) on Tuesday at Conrad Park at Stetson Universi.

Nic Kovacs struck out seven, paving the way for a the Leesburg Lightning win. Kovacs allowed no earned runs, three hits and one walk over seven innings.

Clay Ardeeser brought the heat against the Leesburg Lightning during his outing. Ardeeser held the Leesburg Lightning hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

Tim Stoops ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
