After six lead changes in Tuesday's game at Conrad Park at Stetson Universi, the DeLand Suns (20-13) finally pulled out a 6-5 win over the Sanford River Rats (16-18).

The DeLand Suns would not relinquish the lead as the Sanford River Rats were unable to weather a two-run eighth inning deficit.

The Sanford River Rats scored one run in the ninth on an RBI single by Sam Halpern. Despite their efforts, the Sanford River Rats couldn't finish the comeback.

Erik Lunde racked up two RBIs on three hits for the DeLand Suns. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third and fifth innings.

The Sanford River Rats had no answer for Montana Durapau, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Sanford River Rats managed just two hits off of the the DeLand Suns' pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out four during his 3 2/3 innings of work.

Austin Jackson recorded his fourth win of the year for the DeLand Suns. He allowed one run over two innings. Jackson struck out one, walked none and gave up three hits.

Mike Glassic (0-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just zero innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
