The Leesburg Lightning take out the Orlando Monarchs with help from Kawam, 5-2

Andrew Kawam went 1-2, helping the Leesburg Lightning (2-1) to a 5-2 victory over the Orlando Monarchs (1-2) on Tuesday at Pat Thomas Stadium/Buddy Lowe F.

He singled in the third inning.

Michael Clutterbuck brought the heat against the Orlando Monarchs during his outing. The Orlando Monarchs managed just two hits off of Clutterbuck, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out five during his five innings of work.

Austin Lueck led the Orlando Monarchs' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He doubled in the second inning.

Jordan Brinson put together a nice outing. Brinson held the Leesburg Lightning hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four.

Matthew Mitchell was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
