An impressive effort by Steven Knudson carried the Top Speed Baseball (20-16) to a 21-0 win in seven innings over the Salinas Tomahawks (0-27) on Sunday at Sir Francis Drake High School.
Knudson racked up eight RBIs on four hits for the Top Speed Baseball. He homered in the first, third, fourth, and fifth innings.
Ten runs in the opening three innings allowed the Top Speed Baseball to easily put away the Salinas Tomahawks. An RBI single by Will Wurth, an RBI single by Wurth, and a three-run home run by Knudson during the first inning and an RBI single by Cody Demera and a two-run double by Wurth in the second inning helped the Top Speed Baseball put some runs on the board early.
Miles Galvin struck out six, paving the way for a the Top Speed Baseball win. The Top Speed Baseball's pitcher gave up just three hits over five shutout innings.
Ricky Miramontes ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in two innings, walked three and struck out none.
The Top Speed Baseball pounded the Salinas Tomahawks pitching, as seven hitters combined for 14 hits, 15 RBIs and 19 runs scored.
