The Alameda Merchants (20-17) outlasted the Top Speed Baseball (30-21) on Thursday after five lead changes, squeaking out a 5-4 win at College of Alameda.

Jake Westhorpe reached base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He tripled in the second inning and singled in the fourth innings.

Steven Knudson racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Top Speed Baseball. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the eighth inning.

Mike Hepple improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Alameda Merchants. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered three hits.

Dino Cristiani (3-2) took the loss for the Top Speed Baseball. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
