Jonathan Sa held the Alameda Merchants (17-16) scoreless for 8 1/3 innings to boost the Top Speed Baseball (27-20) to a 1-0 victory.
Sa allowed six hits, two walks and struck out four.
Mark Hurley helped the Top Speed Baseball take the lead for good in the sixth inning. Grant McCoury doubled to start the sixth. He then went from second to third on a groundout by Cody Zimmerman. Finally, Hurley came to the plate with the game scoreless in the sixth inning and hit a sacrifice fly, bringing home McCoury.
Tyler King couldn't get it done on the hill for the Alameda Merchants, taking a loss. He lasted just nine innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed one run.
