Mark Hurley brought home the winning run to give the Top Speed Baseball (18-16) the lead in the ninth inning, as the Top Speed Baseball hung on to beat the Sacramento Scorch (6-15) 4-3 on Saturday.
Brad Chin was hit by a pitch to start the ninth. He then went from first to second. Finally, Hurley came to the plate with the score tied at three in the ninth inning, and singled, bringing home Chin.Hurley was hot from the plate for the Top Speed Baseball. Hurley went 3-5 and drove in one. He singled in the fifth, seventh, and ninth innings.
Cole Williams got the win, running his season record to 3-0. He allowed one run over three innings. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered three hits.
Michael Hansen couldn't get it done on the hill for the Sacramento Scorch, taking a loss. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed one run.
