An ace performance by Adam Bray spurred the Top Speed Baseball (14-13) to a 3-0 win over the Sacramento Scorch (5-12) on Thursday at Cardinal Newman High School.
The Sacramento Scorch had no answer for Bray, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Bray gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out nine during his six innings of work.
Cody Demera boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 4-4 day at the plate to pace the Top Speed Baseball. He singled in the first, second, fourth, and seventh innings.
Devon Golden (1-2) took the loss for the Sacramento Scorch. He lasted just seven innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
