Lauren Lappin was cold coming off the bench, but Lappin warmed up quickly as Lappin stroked a key pinch-hit single in the four to lead the USSSA Pride (7-4) to a 10-2 win over the Carolina Diamonds (2-9) on Saturday at Knights Stadium.
With the USSSA Pride leading by one in the fourth inning, Lappin came to the plate and singled, plating Andrea Duran.
The USSSA Pride blew out the Carolina Diamonds thanks to 15 hits, including zero extra base hits. The USSSA Pride scored four runs in the sixth on , a double by Francesca Enea, a single by Kelsey Bruder, and a double by Duran.
Duran got a hit in each of her two at bats.
Cat Osterman got the win, running her season record to 2-1. She allowed two runs over seven innings. She struck out 12, walked three and surrendered three hits.
Katie Burkhart couldn't get it done in the circle for the Carolina Diamonds, taking a loss. She allowed six runs in four innings, walked three and struck out two.
The USSSA Pride were sparked by Ashley Charters and Duran, who teamed up for four hits and two RBIs.
