Lisa Norris hopes every outing could go as well as Saturday, as Norris struck out 12 batters to carry the Akron Racers (14-22) to a 7-1 victory over the Carolina Diamonds (15-20) at Firestone Stadium.

The offense exploded for the the Akron Racers in the second. In the inning the Akron Racers scored four runs.

Taylor Schlopy racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Akron Racers. She homered in the second inning.

Amanda Kamekona had a hot bat for the Carolina Diamonds. Kamekona went 1-2, drove in one and scored one run. She homered in the fifth inning.

Katie Burkhart (8-8) took the loss for the Carolina Diamonds. She lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
