Monica Abbott hopes every outing could go as well as Friday, as Abbott tossed a shutout to carry the Chicago Bandits (11-3) to a 1-0 victory over the USSSA Pride at Rosemont Stadium.
The USSSA Pride (8-6) couldn't get anything going as long as Abbott was pitching. The USSSA Pride managed just one hit off of the the Chicago Bandits' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out 10 during her seven innings of work.
Cat Osterman (2-2) was the game's losing pitcher. She lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out nine, and allowed one run.
