An exceptional effort by Cat Osterman lifted the USSSA Pride (4-4) to a 7-1 win over the Akron Racers on Friday at Whataburger Field.
Osterman put together a nice outing. The Akron Racers (4-5) managed just one hit off of Osterman, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out 10 during her seven innings of work.
The USSSA Pride's bats came to life in the third inning. The USSSA Pride's bats caught fire leading to four runs.
Charlotte Morgan racked up three RBIs on two hits for the USSSA Pride. She singled in the first inning and homered in the third inning.
Sam Marder had a hot bat for the Akron Racers. Marder went 1-2, drove in one and scored one run. She homered in the fourth inning.
Lisa Norris (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher. She allowed seven runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out two.
