An excellent effort by Monica Abbott led the Chicago Bandits (3-1) to a 1-0 win over the USSSA Pride on Saturday at Rosemont Stadium.
A bright spot for the USSSA Pride (1-3) in the defeat was Cat Osterman, who allowed only one run while striking out eight.
Abbott improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Chicago Bandits. Abbott struck out 14, walked none and gave up no hits.
Osterman ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with her first loss of the year.
