The Southern Maryland Nationals (15-26) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 4-1 to the Bethesda Big Train (25-16) on Friday.

An RBI double by Brendan Hendriks gave the Bethesda Big Train the lead in the eighth inning.

Michael Bass went a perfect 2-2 at the dish for the Bethesda Big Train. He singled in the third and fifth innings.

Ryan Doran's eight strikeouts helped the Bethesda Big Train to the victory. Doran allowed one earned run, five hits and three walks over eight innings.

Despite the loss, the Southern Maryland Nationals' Scott Baker dominated the Bethesda Big Train's batters, giving up zero runs and striking out eight.

Hunter Brown couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Southern Maryland Nationals, taking a loss. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked two, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
