The Vienna River Dogs (20-13) trailed by six in the fifth, but the Vienna River Dogs recovered thanks to a key double in the eighth inning from Johnny Bladel to pull out a 15-9 win over the Silver Spring Takoma T Bolts (9-22) at James Madison High School on Sunday.

With the score tied at nine, Bladel came to the plate and doubled, plating Shaun Wood and J.B. Gadd.

Bladel racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Vienna River Dogs. He homered in the fifth inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

The two teams combined for 24 runs and 24 hits, including zero extra base hits. Relief pitchers got their fill of innings during the game, with the opposing managers using six pitchers in total.

The Vienna River Dogs turned the win into a rout with seven runs in the eighth.

Justin Albright got the win, running his season record to 3-1. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered three hits.

Samuel Beatty (0-5) took the loss for the Silver Spring Takoma T Bolts. He allowed seven runs in one inning, walked three and struck out one.

The Vienna River Dogs hammered the Silver Spring Takoma T Bolts pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 11 hits, 14 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
