A walk-off single from Mike Genovese brought home the winning run for the D.C. Grays (18-21) in a 3-2 victory over the Herndon Braves (15-24) in 12 innings at Hoy Field on Sunday.
Genovese reached base two times. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the twelfth inning.
Chris Nee got the win, running his season record to 1-2. He allowed one run over five innings. He struck out four, walked three and surrendered four hits.
Chad Zurat couldn't get it done on the bump for the Herndon Braves, taking a loss. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed one run.
