The Bethesda Big Train cruise past the Herndon Braves, 8-1

The Herndon Braves (15-24) didn't have a chance on Thursday, as the Bethesda Big Train (25-16) won in blowout fashion, 8-1 at Shirley Povich Field.

The Bethesda Big Train scored three runs in the eighth on a solo home run by Avondre Bollar and a two-run single by Brendan Hendriks.

Hunter Renfroe racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Bethesda Big Train. He homered in the fifth inning.

The Herndon Braves couldn't get anything going so long as Jordan Gross was on the hill. The Herndon Braves managed just three hits off of Gross, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out five during his six innings of work.

James Vasquez paced the Herndon Braves at the plate. Vasquez went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the first inning and singled in the ninth inning.

Nick Rogowski was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked five, struck out seven, and allowed five runs.
