The Rockville Express defeat the Alexandria Aces after late game hit into a fielder's choice, 6-4

The Rockville Express (30-11) took the last of five lead changes in a back-and-forth affair against the Alexandria Aces (20-21), securing a 6-4 victory on Thursday at Frank Mann Field.

The Rockville Express finally managed to grab the lead after a strong sixth inning. A fielder's choice scored Johnny Cole and gave the Rockville Express the lead for good.

Norm Donkin racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Rockville Express. He homered in the fifth inning.

The Alexandria Aces had no answer for Nick Riley, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Riley gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out five during his three innings of work.

Ronnie Glenn went a perfect 3-3 at the dish for the Alexandria Aces. He doubled in the sixth inning and singled in the fourth and eighth innings.

Dominic Vattunne recorded his fourth win of the year for the Rockville Express. He allowed four runs over six innings. Vattunne struck out seven, walked nine and gave up four hits.

Chris McKenna ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
