The Silver Spring Takoma T Bolts (8-17) didn't stand a chance on Sunday, as the Bethesda Big Train (15-11) captured a blowout 14-5 win in five innings at Shirley Povich Field.
The Bethesda Big Train scored seven runs in the fifth on an RBI single by Michael Bass, an RBI single by Brendan Hendriks, and a home run by Hunter Renfroe.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the third, with four lead changes.
The Bethesda Big Train pulled out the win thanks to a strong third inning. A sacrifice fly by Tucker Tobin scored Colin Kish and gave the Bethesda Big Train the lead for good.
Renfroe racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Bethesda Big Train.
Even though Jon Carlson allowed five runs over three innings he still recorded the victory, his second of the season. He struck out one, walked three and surrendered eight hits.
Devon Davis ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in three innings, walked two and struck out none.
