Jake Straub went 2-3 and hit a home run, sparking the Alexandria Aces (16-16) to a 3-1 victory over the Herndon Braves (12-19) on Saturday at Frank Mann Field.
He singled in the second innings and homered in the fourth inning.Jamie Treml's six strikeouts were enough to push the Alexandria Aces past the Herndon Braves. Treml allowed one earned run, three hits and one walk over six innings.
A bright spot for the Herndon Braves in the defeat was Michael Costello, who allowed only two runs while striking out five.
Costello was charged with his first loss of the year.
