The Silver Spring Takoma T Bolts (9-26) didn't have a chance on Monday, as the Southern Maryland Nationals (13-23) won in blowout fashion, 9-3 in seven innings at Regency Furniture Stadium.

The Southern Maryland Nationals scored four runs in the second on an RBI single by Danny Breen, an RBI single by Breen, and a three-run home run by Bill Root.

Root racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Southern Maryland Nationals.

Taylor Peed's nine strikeouts were enough to push the Southern Maryland Nationals past the Silver Spring Takoma T Bolts. Peed allowed two earned runs, four hits and one walk over five innings.

Sam Kmiec (0-3) took the loss for the Silver Spring Takoma T Bolts. He allowed eight runs in four innings, walked two and struck out four.
