An excellent effort by Jake Taylor hoisted the Silver Spring Takoma T Bolts (8-14) to a 16-6 win over the D.C. Grays (10-13) on Friday at Blair Stadium.
Taylor blasted two home runs for the Silver Spring Takoma T Bolts. Taylor went 3-5 in the game with three RBIs and two runs scored. Taylor homered in the fourth and seventh innings.
John Beaubien rocked the Silver Spring Takoma T Bolts with two home runs. Beaubien went 2-3 in the game with two RBIs and three runs scored. Beaubien homered in the fourth and eighth innings.
The Silver Spring Takoma T Bolts blew out the D.C. Grays thanks to 15 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Silver Spring Takoma T Bolts scored seven runs in the seventh on a two-run home run by Taylor, an RBI single by Bobby Vitulano, a two-run single by Kurt Wertz Jr., a wild pitch, and an RBI single by Chris Bzozowski.
The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to five lead changes in the game.
Even though James Mills allowed five runs over five innings he still recorded the victory, his second of the season. He struck out five, walked one and surrendered six hits.
Joel Castillo couldn't get it done on the mound for the D.C. Grays, taking a loss. He allowed nine runs in six innings, walked two and struck out four.
The Silver Spring Takoma T Bolts easily handled the D.C. Grays pitching as six hitters combined for 13 hits, 13 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
