The Herndon Braves cough up lead, the D.C. Grays win 14-13

The D.C. Grays (10-12) trailed by four in the third, but Kris Moules was able to capture the lead back with a in the eighth, spurring the D.C. Grays to a 14-13 win over the Herndon Braves (10-11) at Alan McCullock Field on Saturday.

With the score tied at 11 in the eighth inning,, scoring Danny Avella.

Moules led the D.C. Grays' offensive threat, as he got on base two times in the game.

The two teams combined for 27 runs and 32 hits, including zero extra base hits. Managers of the two teams seemingly emptied their bullpens in search of the win, as there were nine pitchers used in the game.

The D.C. Grays staved off the Herndon Braves as the Herndon Braves were unable to match the D.C. Grays down the stretch.

The Herndon Braves scored two runs in the eighth on a two-run double by Jake Thomas. Unfortunately, the Herndon Braves weren't able to take the lead back.

Mike Genovese got the win, running his season record to 2-0. He allowed two runs over three innings. Genovese struck out two, walked one and gave up three hits.

Chad Zurat (0-2) took the loss for the Herndon Braves. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked four, struck out one, and allowed four runs.

The D.C. Grays' John Beaubien, Troy Marrow, Zach Lopes and Brian Robbett combined for 11 hits and eight RBIs.
